HEADTEACHERS departing from a school in Marlow were treated to an unforgettable car experience as a thank you for their hard work over the years.

Sir William Borlase's headteacher Kay Mountfield and deputy head James Simpson were surprised when a vintage Chevrolet Z/28 Camaro car rocked up to the school's gates.

Year 12 student Rahil Hashmi organised the day to say thank you on behalf of all of the students.

It was also a special treat to the pupils in the school as well.

Rahil said: "With the head and deputy head departing at the end of this academic year, students at my school wanted to create a special magazine to commemorate their time here.

"To make it unforgettable, they asked me to help organise a unique photoshoot; something which became a remarkable experience.

"Together with Chris’s help, we were able to organise for an iconic 1969 Chevrolet Z/28 Camaro to come to school."

Chris Jeffery, the owner of the car, loved watching the students and headteachers beam with excitement when he drove in.

Mr Jeffrey, who is a member of The Sporting Bears Motor Club, said: “The enthusiasm and respect shown by your fellow students and the excellent rapport I saw between them and the teachers during the shoot was inspiring.”

Chris also allowed students to sit in the car and take their own pictures.

Rahil added: "Its powerful V8 engine echoed through the school, leaving everyone in awe. Chris generously allowed all the students to sit in the car, take stunning photos, and satisfy their curiosity with his knowledge and stories. And as he bid farewell, the Camaro unleashed a magnificent roar, etching itself in our memories.”

Neel Kygonahally, Deputy Head Boy: “It was a lovely, unique experience which celebrated the hard work and dedication of Mrs Mountfield and Mr Simpson over the years.”
