The owner of a celebrity hair salon has spoken about the ‘rare’ second win in a row.

Brendan O’Sullivan Hair and Beauty in Amersham was crowned the best hair salon in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire in this year's Muddy Stilettos Awards.

The owner of his signature salon Brendan O’Sullivan attended the memorable award ceremony on July 10 with of other top businesses voted by customers.

Amersham resident Brendan said: “It was the second time we had won. We are the only company having done that. Next year we need to do a hat trick!

“Last year we didn’t know what it was but our customers seemed to know and got behind it.

“We were surprised how many more customers we got. They are travelling to us from an hour away.”

The salon's clientele includes professional skaters from Dancing on Ice, the Vampire Diaries actress Kat Graham, Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan and actress Hayley Squires among others.

He said this year the awards has even “more value” as it signals customers' unwavering support.

“We have done lots of industry awards, but this is a vote from the consumers,” he added.

The seasoned stylist said the salon was different to others in the area thanks to its personalised service.

Brendan said: “You can get a blowdry and haircut everywhere. But to get something personalised is where we look at your bone structure and head shape.”

He and many of his stylists have done Fashion Week shows around the world. Brendan styles at around 90 shows per year, including Paris, Milan and London.

“That’s bringing looks straight from the catwalk to the salon, and I don’t think anyone else does that at least in this area,” he said.

However, the business didn’t get to its success “overnight,” he pointed out.

“We are celebrating our 18th year next month and doing a party. We started with a smaller salon and less chairs. Now we have 26 stylists in the salon and beauty and aestheticians as well. It’s a one stop shop.

“We are about quality. We are not the cheapest but we are certainly the best,” he continued.
