MICHELIN Star food is now even more accessible than ever after Atul Kochhar launched a new takeaway service from his restaurants in Buckinghamshire.

Chef Atul Kochhar’s restaurants in Beaconsfield, Marlow and Amersham are now serving takeaway options, offering outstanding Indian dishes to be enjoyed at home.

The twice Michelin star chef was kind enough to offer the Bucks Free Press a chance to try some of his favourite dishes, which are available for collection only from his restaurants.

On a busy Thursday newspaper deadline, the thought of having Indian food was a real treat and helped keep spirits high in the Loudwater office.

We were all eager to indulge and try some authentic food as it made a change from a Tesco meal deal.

The fantastic staff and chefs at Riwaz in Beaconsfield prepared an entire feast full of flavoursome curries, side dishes and desserts. The smell from the brown paper takeaway bags made the journey more difficult than usual.

We tried the creamy Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, which was slow-cooked with Kashmiri Chillies, Chicken Tikka, paneer cheese and a Daal black riwazi.

The creamy daal dished was delicious mopped up with warm Naan bread.

The Aloo Gobi Bikaneri, a side dish with cauliflower and potatoes was also included and very flavoursome, adding freshness to the meal.

Here's our office review of Atul Kocchar's takeaway:

Daisy Waites: “The best Indian I have ever had. Each dish was just brilliant – especially the lamb Rogan Josh which was incredible.

"The samosas were crisp on the outside with a deliciously spicy filling, and the soft naans were a great addition.

"Finishing the meal off with custard desserts was the perfect end to what was a fantastic Indian. While amazing for a treat, the price would put me off making this my regular.”

Eleanor Burleigh said: "A diverse range of flavours, doesn’t scrimp on portions, refreshing and sweet dessert, like a high-end takeaway – tastes like Michelin-starred food but accessible."

Noora Mykannen said: “I was starving on the day, and having the Indian feast wait at the office when returning from a reporting gig was a life-saver. As a pescatarian, I was pleased by the vegetarian options available.

"My favourites were the filled samosas with delicious chickpeas on the side and a chickpea yoghurt blend, which was a nice balance against the spices and flavours.

"The mango-flavoured desert with fresh berries was delicious and helped me get through the afternoon slump.”

Charlie Smith added: "The lentil dish was rich with a real depth of flavour. It was the best curry I've ever had. The side dishes were also wonderful, especially the samosas.

"The mango dessert was perfect creamy pudding after all those spices."

The price of the dishes ranges anywhere from a meat bundle for two at £72 to individual dishes starting at Butter Chicken for £12.75, Lamb Rogan Josh for £14.45.
