THE final moments before Wilko's High Wycombe closure have been captured in emotional photographs as the store prepares to shut down this week.

High Wycombe Wilko store in The Chilterns Shopping Centre is the latest store in Buckinghamshire to close this week (week commencing September 25) after the discount retailer announced it was heading into administration in August.

Shoppers have been able to grab last-minute discounted items at the store, with shelves already bare.

Huge 'store closing' signs on the window and in the shop can be seen in the sad photos taken by resident Dom Foulkes.

Sharing his post to a local Facebook community group, readers have responded with their heartfelt messages about the store.

The general consensus is that locals "feel sad" to see the store closing.

Sharon Gausman gave her wishes to the staff who are about to lose their jobs.

She said: "So sorry to lose Wilko and all the lovely staff thank you all for all the years and wish you all the luck in the future."

Pauline Mann added: "Sad day for the staff all these shops closing once they have all gone online shopping will then become really expensive as there won't be so much competition. Its also nice to chat to staff occasionally."
