A DRIVER who sought compensation from a council after his car was damaged by a pothole has been awarded a partial refund for his repairs.
Derek Dickenson, 58, of Hill Avenue, Hazlemere has been offered payment for a new alloy wheel and wheel balancing on his Mercedes.
Buckinghamshire County Council agreed to the compensation after it admitted it lost paperwork ordering repairs to the Penn Bottom road.
But the council refused to pay for two new tyres replacement tyres after one burst when the car hit the pothole.
Officers said they could not "better" the condition of the tyres by paying for new ones to replace part used ones.
Viv Saunders, council spokesman, said: "We have agreed that Mr Dickenson has a claim but we need further information from him regarding the age and mileage of the tyre and wheel that he will be claiming for."
