A gym started by two women is opening a new site in Beaconsfield within weeks.

FitWorks gym announced it was going to open a new fitness site in Beaconsfield at a disused building, which used to house the St John’s Ambulance.

The building will soon host a variety of classes to build movement, strength and wellness after being empty for three years.

A spokesperson for the company said: “FitWorks is now looking to build a community where people can come no matter what ability or age to have a safe space to train and relax.  It will be a place where they aim to work with other local trainers to deliver men’s wellness, women’s wellness, and a variety of classes.

“It has been amazing to see that already members and their families have pulled together to decorate, fix and get the building ready for Open Day.  As like they say ‘ behind every small business is a family’."

The new FitWorks studio is located on Meadow Lane off Candlemas Lane between Beaconsfield New and Old Town.

It will boast a range of equipment used in the classes, including TRX, functional kit, mace, squat racks, ropes, dumbbells, kettlebells, strongman (at the rugby club) and bands.

The grand opening will be on Saturday, November 18 with taster classes, challenges and a live DJ.

FitWorks was started by fitness enthusiasts Pippa Lance and Hannah Camden in 2012 at the Beaconsfield Rugby Club with outdoor bootcamp sessions.

The business took off in 2019 when the duo started to expand the FitWorks team with like-minded people, and the company now operates training in Marlow and Chinnor/Thame area.
