A spectacular Christmas light switch on event will see Princes Risborough High Street burst into festive cheer on Saturday, November 25.

The annual Christmas Lights Switch On event promises a blend of the traditional and the new, organised by Princes Risborough Town Council.

Running from 3pm till 6pm, the event brings together local residents and out-of-town visitors, offering an array of entertainment.

An ice rink, and Santa’s Grotto will be set up and attendees will also have a chance to enjoy performances on the main stage outside the historic Market House.

From local school pupils to Risborough Youth Theatre, and even indie band 'My Name Is Jeff’ will be performing, ensuring an atmosphere filled with joy and laughter.

In addition, a magical inflatable snow globe will be set up for the perfect Christmas card photograph.

The Ellesborough Silver Band, Princes Risborough Ukulele Group, and stilt walkers will be present as they navigate through the crowd along the High Street.

The afternoon offers local vendors, such as Really Good Sausages, La Crepe Escape, Little Urban Chef, Divine Meals, Farm Slice Pizza, and others to serve their sumptuous food and drinks.

Above all, the event provides a great platform for local businesses, charities, and organisations to boost their profile and raise funds.

As the day draws to a close, the Wicked Queen Grimelda from Aylesbury’s pantomime rendition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will switch on the town’s Christmas Lights, signifying the official start to the holiday season.

The main sponsor is Michael Graham Estate Agents, a long-time supporter of the event.

Their backing makes this festive tradition possible and continues to draw crowds year after year.
