Updated: Tube strike has been called off after talks between the RMT Union and Transport for London.

Passengers using the London Underground in and around Buckinghamshire were warned of “severe disruption” during a strike.

Members of the RMT Union working for the London Underground have planned industrial action from Sunday, January 7 until Friday, January 12.

However, the strike has now been called off after talks.

The industrial action has been called after a below inflation pay offer and concern over staff facilities.

Chesham and Amersham MP Sarah Green alerted her constituents on her social media to the upcoming disruption, many of whom commute daily to central London and back.

Transport for London told passengers to check their journeys carefully on the following strike days.

  • Sunday, January 7: Tube services will close earlier than normal. Customers are advised to complete Tube journeys by 17:30
  • Monday, January 8 to Thursday, January 11: Severe disruption is expected, with little to no service expected to run
  • Friday 12 January: Tube services will start later than normal, with a good service expected by midday

No other Transport for London services will be on strike, but some bus, Elizabeth line, London Overground and DLR services will be busier, TfL said.

Chiltern Railways warned that its services running via Amersham along London Underground infrastructure (mainly track and signalling systems) will be affected by the industrial action. Its journey planners are yet to be updated to reflect the changes.
