A signature burger made by a food truck operating across the Buckinghamshire region is a contender for the best of its kind in the UK.

Burgervore, a food truck based in Monks Risborough, has gone from strength to strength since being founded in 2021, with the popular business recently named as a finalist for the second year running in the National Burger Awards 2024.

The Basic Instinct burger, an aged beef patty with Swiss cheese, American cheese, vore sauce, streaky bacon, shredded lettuce, minced onion, beef tomato and sliced gherkin, created by the team at Burgervore, is among 16 finalists for the prestigious title, with the winner to be crowned following a live cook-off in London next month.

The event, taking place at Big Penny Social on February 20, will also see chefs from the winning businesses compete in a technical challenge where they will create a burger from scratch in an effort to scoop the Burger Chef of the Year title.

Winners of each round will be chosen by a panel of industry judges including former victors of the competition.

Genna Ash-Brown, editor of Dine Out Magazine, which organises and runs the awards, said: “A decade into this respected event, we are beyond proud to reveal our most exciting line-up yet.

“It’s always a joy to offer such a platform to some of the UK’s finest culinary talent – all that’s left now is to find out who comes out on top.”
