Could you sleep under the stars in High Wycombe to support people experiencing homelessness?

Members of the community have been encouraged by Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) to participate in the Big Sleepout on March 2 this year to raise vital funds to help the homeless in south Bucks this winter.

WHC's Fundraising Manager, Heather Stanley, has warned that local rough sleeping has reached critical levels.

She said: "Too many people are rough sleeping locally and it can be almost impossible for them to stay safe during the coldest months.

"Their lives are at risk and it is only with the help of our community that we can act to make sure no one loses their life this winter."

The Sleepout, originally held in autumn, has been pushed to winter to increase difficulty and donations.

Options available for participants include Adam's Park, All Saints Church, Marlow, or arranging a personal Sleepout.

Heather asserts that while true homelessness can't be understood through one night, such actions do extend solidarity and critical funding.

Registration is open at www.wyhoc.org.uk/bigsleepout2024 for donations and participation.
