Residents at a care home in Gerrards Cross were given a day to remember after they were treated to several performing pets.

Those based at Chalfont Lodge were greeted by numerous birds who perched themselves on the habitants, as the pensioners enjoyed the festivities.

Performing Pets regularly visit the residents at Chalfont Lodge.

General Manager Raj Boodhoo said: “Our residents have enjoyed their unusual visitors today.

“We knew that having Performing Pets here would be fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus.

“We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Chalfont Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, offering residential, nursing and dementia care for 109 residents from respite care to long-term stays.
