FOUR men have been arrested following what police describe as an incident of "violent disorder" in Chesham on Monday night.

Police said a number of people who are believed to be known to each other were involved in disorder in the Cresswell Road, Darvell Drive and Bellingdon Road areas.

The four men, aged 23, 24, 29 and 34, all from Chesham, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in police custody.

One man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not life threatening.

A Section 60 order, which allows officers greater powers of stop and search, was put in place for 24 hours on Tuesday, February 7,to prevent further possible violence.

This has now ended.

Inspector Jason Liles said: “We are continuing our investigation and have now made five arrests in connection with the incident and as a result will not be renewing the Section 60 order that has been in place.

“Anyone with information about the incident should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 43240057310.”

A 28-year-old man from Chesham previously arrested on suspicion of assault has been released on police bail.
