A 16-year-old year boy from Chalfont St Peter is ‘hoping to make a difference’ as he prepares for a five-mile charity run this month.

Henry Allen, who attends St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood, is aiming to raise £150 for the Children’s Society, with teen (at the time of writing) already securing half of the money.

He chose the charity as he wanted to help children in need.

Henry told the Free Press: “Fundraising is something I wanted to do as I want to make a difference.

“I’ll be running this one on my own on February 20, and even though I don’t have a route planned out, I’ll be doing it in Chalfont St Peter.

“I’ve had a lot of support from people which has been nice.

“My school even posted an announcement about it, and there’s no pressure for people to donate.

“There’s a lot of people facing challenges so if we can help them out, that would be great.”

This is the second fundraiser Henry will do within five months after he managed to raise £350 for Cancer Research at the back end of last year.

The teenager put his name down to take part in the charity’s ‘100 miles in October’ challenge, where he trekked 108 miles.
