A warning has been issued about companies cold-calling tenants offering 'no win, no fee' services for housing disrepair claims.
The firms often exploit those involved, charging high fees, resulting in unforeseen costs for tenants.
Red Kite, a local housing company has voiced concern, highlighting defending against such claims can be costly, diverting funds away from other necessary elements.
They emphasised their commitment to working positively with tenants to maintain property standards.
Residents are advised to report any repair needs directly to them.
The company also warned tenants to verify identity before granting home access following concerns of potential information phishing.
"If there's an occasion whereby we don't meet our obligations, we have a feedback process that can be followed to help resolve the matter," said a Red Kite spokesman.
