A strong smell of sewage overpowered a section of High Wycombe following a leak.
Reports were made to Thames Water on March 7 after liquid started to seep through a manhole in the Frogmoor area of the town and spilt onto nearby roads.
A post on X (formerly known as Twitter), by user Frances Cutler said: βThis manhole in Frogmoor in the centre of High Wycombe is leaking what must be sewage as the smell is DISGUSTING!β

Those visiting the area in the centre of High Wycombe also commented on the stench, with one person saying: βIt was horrible.
βMy husband and I were in Frogmoor that evening looking at a place to eat but decided against it.
βThe smell was so bad and you could see the sewage water go onto the road from the pavement.
βIt was gross.β
A Thames Water spokesperson said: βWe are investigating reports of a suspected broken sewage pipe on Frogmoor, High Wycombe.
"Our engineers will attend in the next 24-hours to assess the situation and begin carrying out the required repair.
"Weβd like to thank the customer for bringing this issue to our attention.
"If you spot a leak, or any other problem, you can report it on our website.β
