A man from Milton Keynes has tried the UK’s most expensive croissant – a 1.5kg pastry which costs £25 – and said it was ‘worth every penny’.

Callum Ryan, 23, a content creator from Milton Keynes, visited pastry chef Phillipe Conticini’s shop in South Kensington, London, on Tuesday, February 27, to splash out on the delicacy, which contains 700g of butter, totals around 3,000 calories and can serve up to six people.

Callum, who filmed the visit for his TikTok channel, said he only managed to eat half of the croissant before giving the rest to his friends as he was “too full” to finish it.

“I couldn’t believe it was actually that big and that expensive – it takes over an hour to make!

“I couldn’t finish it off myself, so I hate half of it and gave the rest to some of my friends, but it was absolutely banging, and I would highly recommend it.

“I would say it is worth the price if you share it between friends.”
