A 21-year-old caught with indecent images of children as young as three has been spared jail.

George Kennet, of Vicarage Road, Pitstone, appeared before Aylesbury Crown Court today (March 14).

He had previously pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children, after police raided his home in August 2023 as part of an investigation into abuse imagery.

Prosecuting barrister Kevin West said a phone was seized from Kennet.

Police were able to recover 108 indecent images and videos from it, some featuring children as young as three.

Judge Matthew Turner told Kennet: "You were frank in the probation meeting that you had a sexual interest in children online."

Defence barrister Derek Johashen said that Kennet's life circumstances made a prison sentence unnecessary.

He said: "This is a young man that's fairly well-supported by his family and family members."

Mr Johashen added: "It's quite clear that he will comply with any order set [by the court], in terms of Sexual Harm Prevention Orders."

Judge Turner concurred with the defence's assessment, noting that Kennet had no previous criminal convictions - including for any sex offences.

He handed the defendant a 24-month community order.

Kennet will be expected to complete 35 sessions with Horizon, a rehabilitation programme for sex offenders.

In addition, he must carry 150 hours of unpaid work.

Judge Turner ordered that the phone with the indecent images be forfeited and destroyed.
