A man who attacked a police officer in Aylesbury was ordered by magistrates to attend a thinking skills programme.
Thomas Hinsley, 39 of Coppidwell Drive, Aylesbury, beat the officer on May 26 last year.
The following day, he verbally abused another man on the streets of the town.
Hinsley entered guilty pleas to charges of beating an emergency worker and using threatening or abusive words and behaviour.
On February 5, High Wycombe Magistrates' Court ordered the defendant to pay £300 in compensation to the police officer, and £200 to his other victim.
In addition, he is expected to complete a 19-day thinking skills course.
