Renovations are set to enhance St Peter's Church, Loudwater, in a significant way, improving the toilet facilities, if plans get the go ahead.

Instructed by the church, MEB Design Ltd has been leading with the architectural plans.

"WC's local and internally accessible within the church is considered a necessity," explained the architect.

The future construction plans aim at minimizing the painful trips to the existing toilet facilities in church centre halls or vicarage, particularly for the elderly.

St Peter's, an 18th Century Grade II listed church, was previously expanded by MEB Design Ltd back in 2006.

The recent proposal seeks to transform the existing bin store area into an extension for the church.

"The planned extension and minor internal alterations to the Church...is considered minor in nature and assumed to be of low significance with negligible impact to the listed asset," reassured the project report.

The project was born out of the evident need to improve the conditions associated with the pre-school operations taking place in the halls.

The new WC extension will provide internal access and is now coming to life due to safeguarding issues that made the need more evident.
