HOMEOWNERS who opened their gardens to the public to raise charity cash were thanked with a reception at Danesfield House on November 5.

Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust threw the bash for around 45 volunteers and garden owners who raised £18,000.

Householders across the region charged visitors to open their gardens for the service, which needs £1.7m a year to keep running.

The service is seeking volunteers to open their gardens to share with the public for an admission fee in aid of the charity.
