Road closures for poppy parades

NUMEROUS roads will be closed tomorrow as residents gather for annual remembrance day services.

Towns and villages across south Bucks and Chiltern will fall silent as people gather to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict.

Roads will be closed to allow parades of servicemen and dignitaries to pass through high streets and main roads.

Buckinghamshire County Council, which is responsible for road closures, has released the following list of roads that will be affected tomorrow:

Amersham on the Hill, from 11.30am – 12.30pm. Bois Lane from High Bois Lane junction to the Sycamore Road junction. Sycamore Road from Bois Lane to Rickmansworth Road/Woodside Road junction. Woodside Road, from Rickmansworth Road junction to Hyrons Lane/Green Lane junction.

Beaconsfield, from 10.30am – 11.30am. Windsor End from the roundabout to the edge of the church boundary.

Chalfont St Giles, from 9.30am – 11.30am. Silver Hill from junction with No. 1 Ivy Cottages High Street junction. High Street for a distance of 100m in a north easterly direction. The Green in its entirety.

Chalfont St Peter, from 2pm – 4.15pm. Entire lengths of Nicol Road, Market Place and High Street from junction with Market Place to A413 junction. Glebe Road, Nicol End, Eleanor Road, Nicol Close, Lovel Road, Lansdown Road, Hampden Road, The Vale and Church Lane will also be closed as the parade passes.

Chesham, from 10.40am – 11.30am. Entire lengths of Higham Road, Townsend Road, Whitehill, Queens Road, St. Marys Way, Broadway and Broad Street.

Gerrards Cross, from 10.50am – 11.10am. East Common from Mill Lane junction to junction with Marsham Lane.

Holmer Green, from 3.15pm – 4.30pm. Beech Tree Road to junction with The Common to The Rosary junction, and The Common from junction with Penfold Lane to Beech Tree Road junction.

Flackwell Heath, from 10am – 12 midday. Treadaway Road from junction with Common Road and continuing for a distance of approximately 50 metres in a north easterly direction. Entire lengths of The Common, Straight Bit, Common Road and Old Kiln Road.

High Wycombe, from 7am – 3pm. St. Mary’s Street at junction with Swan Service Road and Paul’s Row. Queen Victoria Road from the bridge to its junction with the High Street. High Street, Church Square and Church Street in their entirety. Castle Street from its junction with Priory Road to the eastern boundary of All Saint’s Church.

Lane End, from 10.50am – 11.15am. Finings Road from junction with Church Path and continuing for a distance of 120 metres. Entire length of High Street.

Marlow, from 8am – 12.15pm. Entire lengths of Station Approach, Station Road, The Causeway and High Street.

Naphill, from 3.10pm – 3.40pm. Main Road from junction with Downley Road and continuing for a distance of approximately 30 metres in an easterly direction.

Princes Risborough, from 9am – 11.30am. Entire lengths of Bell Street, Horn’s Lane, High Street, Duke Street and Church Lane.

Stokenchurch, 10.55am – 11.05am. The A40 Oxford Road, from junction with Pigeon Farm Road continuing to junction with westerly entrance to Church Street. Lower Church Street from St Peter & St Paul's Church in a easterly direction to junction with Church Street. Church Street from junction with Lower Church Street to junction with Oxford Road.

Wycombe Marsh, from 2pm – 2.30pm. Entire lengths of Mead Way and Kings Road and that length of London Road to St. Anne's Church. Beech Road between junction with Kings Road to junction with Meadway.
