PROUD parents Kerry Pocock and Nathan Frost were delighted after their ten-month-old tot Jake was named as one of the BFP's Little Stars.

Their bouncing baby boy was picked by judges as the winner of the 0-9 months category and scooped himself £100 worth of Adam's vouchers, along with a professional picture.

Kerry and Nathan, from Lane End, said they entered Jake into the contest on a whim.

Kerry, 31, said; “We were hoping he would get to the top ten so when Ellen (from the BFP) told me I was in shock. We're really proud of him.

“We've got family and friends that read the BFP and they voted but there must have been other people that voted for him so it's brilliant.

“It must have been really hard for the judges because they were all gorgeous.”

Jake's winning picture will be hung in pride of place in the couple's home in Simmons Way – and they are not the only ones who have taken a shine to it.

“Jake will be looking at it all the time because he loves pictures,” Kerry said, “He kisses his own pictures.”

All the Little Stars contestants appeared in a special supplement in the BFP, and readers then voted for their favourites.

After the public vote the top ten from each of the three age categories were judged by a panel of photographers, who picked a winner and runner-up from each age bracket.

Six-month-old Jack Lennon was chosen as runner-up in the 0-9 months category and won himself £30 of Early Learning vouchers.
