POLITICS students from a Wycombe grammar school are down to the final 10 in a competition for a chance to make an episode of BBC One show Question Time (writes Anna Widawska).

The group from John Hampden Grammar School in Marlow Hill, High Wycombe, have beaten off stiff competition from 80 schools across the country to reach this stage of the Schools Question Time Challenge.

As part of the challenge the school is hosting its own Question Time on March 20.

The team of ten 16 and 17 year old students submitted a proposal to the BBC and at the moment they are in the process of choosing panel.

If they are successful, they will have a chance, along with three other schools, to prepare a special show with the BBC production team and with host David Dimbleby in the summer.

He said: “We know that young people are passionate about the issues that affect their lives and the Schools Question Time Challenge gives them an opportunity to question those who make the decisions.”
