HIGH Wycombe waste firm Biffa has pleaded guilty to health and safety breaches over the death of man killed by a digger at a tip.
Dennis Krauesslar, 59, was killed at a centre in Newbury, Berkshire in 2007 as he emptied garden waste into a pit.
The digger’s shovel struck Mr Krauesslar, crushing him against the pit wall. He died a later in hospital.
The Coronation Road, Cressex firm pleaded guilty to two breaches at West Berkshire Magistrates Court on Monday.
The charges said the firm failed to meet its safety duties regarding use of the digger and to make a “suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to the health and safety”.
The incident happened at the council-run Civic Amenity Site in Newbury in September 2007.
Sentencing will take place at Reading Crown Court at a date to be fixed.
