FANTASTIC film sets from an Oscar-nominated movie are to go on display in Great Missenden this weekend.

Visitors to the Roald Dahl Museum on Saturday will be able to take a peek at two of the background sets used in the film version of Dahl's book, 'Fantastic Mr Fox'.

The sets are of Mr Fox's study – based on Roald Dahl's real-life writing hut, where he wrote many of his masterpieces – and the Nag's Head pub in Great Missenden, where flaming pine cone hand grenades were hurled through the air in a final fight scene.

Many of the scenes in the film were inspired by locations around Great Missenden, where the famous author lived until his death in 1990.

A full-size version of the writing hut has a permanent home at the museum, in High Street, allowing visitors to compare it with the version used in the film.

The two sets have been leant to the museum by the 20th Century Fox Film Corporation.

Visitors will also be able to try their hand at making a mini stop-frame animation of their own on the Make-a-Movie screen in the Story Centre, as well as joining in with all sorts of other story-telling and story-making activities.
