I HAVE been a resident of High Wycombe for more than 40 years. For the vast majority of that time, the same political party has been in power.

Their inability to deliver services to the over-burdened taxpayer is staggering. This is the same council that invested £2.5m of our money which is currently locked in Iceland due to a banking crisis there. Now they want to invest more millions in a new sports stadium. Will they ever learn?

Then there’s the controversial plan to move the athletics track to Hazlemere to make way for a coach station. At what cost?

Remember the Frogmoor fountain? More good money down the drain (forgive my pun).

Next they want to demolish the flyover – more wasted money. Don’t get me started on the closure of the outdoor swimming pool and the threat to our museum.

As council taxpayers, all we ask is for our rubbish to be collected once a week (not fortnightly), the gritters to grit before the snow falls and the potholes to be repaired. In my view, the WDC and BCC are inadequate – not fit for purpose.
