A YEAR ago (February 13, 2009) Anthony Weeden claimed in your columns that there has been a decade of cooling. You ran a letter of mine requesting him to justify this claim. He did not respond and has now stated that ‘there is a distinct cooling trend’, again misleadingly citing the anomalous year of 1998. If there is evidence for this cooling trend will Mr Weeden please tell us what it is. If he is unwilling to explain what his claims are based on it is hard to see what sort of a debate is possible.
