WASN’T it nice to see senior councillors helping to chop off Bill Pollard’s beard for charity?
Bill, manager of the Chilterns Shopping Centre in High Wycombe, raised a stack of cash for the air ambulance by having his legendary whiskers shaved just over a week ago.
And, as my picture shows, he was admirably helped out by Wycombe District Council’s leader Cllr Lesley Clarke, left, and town mayor Cllr Julie Pritchard, right.
But, I hear you cry, why use councillors for a beard shave?
Well in my book, Bill got it right.
Because if you want something cut in High Wycombe these days, there’s no one better to do it than our council.
Okay, cheap shot. I’ll donate a fiver to Bill’s fund just for the privilege of making that awful gag.
