THE work of an organisation which helps to commemorate the war dead will be shown at High Wycombe library next week.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will be attending a ‘Family and Local History Afternoon’ on Wednesday, February 17.

The group will give an audio visual presentation on its work around the world to commemorate the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth who died during the two world wars.

The commission marks and maintains the graves of members of the forces of Commonwealth countries who died in the First and Second World Wars.

It also maintains memorials to the dead whose bodies have no known grave and provides records and registers of these burials and commemorations.

The talk will begin at 2pm. Entrance costs £1n which goes toward the work of the commission, and all are welcome.
