STENCH blighted residents can quiz Thames Water about its £4m odour busting plans for Little Marlow Sewage Treatment Works in a fortnight.

The company announced the multi-million pound proposal to reduce smells at the site, which householders have campaigned about for years, in December.

Disgusted villagers have bombarded the company with complaints about the stomach churning rotten cabbage stink for more than a decade.

Councillors were left unimpressed by the plan because it targets the composting area which only accounts for 73 per cent of the smell.

Project manager Peter Taylor admitted at the Little Marlow Parish Council meeting, when the proposal was announced, that there were no plans to tackle the remaining 27 per cent.

This prompted an angry response from councillors who said this was “not acceptable”.

The work to upgrade the composting area is set to begin in April.

Residents can find out more details about the proposal by attending a drop-in session on March 3.

The project team will be there to answer questions.

It takes place at the Pavillion, Church Road, Little Marlow, between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

Thames Water plan to complete this by the end of December.
