A ROAD in High Wycombe has been targeted by criminals.
As I have experienced car crime on this road on various Sundays, I feel I must warn car owners and save them the cost, time and pain it causes.
I was parked on Priory Avenue near Priory Road for only an hour one Sunday afternoon and upon my return saw that another car (not my own this time ) had had its back windscreen smashed and half a brick lay on the back seat. I reported it to the police.
Unfortunately my daughter parked on the same road this Sunday, forgetting its reputation (nothing left in her car I may add) and went to do work experience at the Wycombe Swan Theatre.
She returned in the evening to find ALL her car windows (except one) smashed. A very nasty shock for a 21-year-old.
The selfish criminals left her with a bill for £1,400 to replace her windows (the car is not worth that even).
She’s a student in London during the week and has parked her car many times in London with no problems, then parking in High Wycombe to her cost.
Be warned you could be next – paying out hundreds by parking in Priory Avenue on a Sunday. Sadly High Wycombe has some thugs (bored I presume) making life hell for others as their pastime.
I know the thugs won’t be reading this letter but perhaps a parent could check what their child/teenager is up to with their mates on a Sunday and are they carrying a bag/rucksack – check for half cut bricks!?
My guess is that there are lots of other car owners who have had this experience with Priory Avenue among other roads in High Wycombe – make sure you let the police know, not just your insurance companies, as I believe the police need numbers and let’s hope they can stop these thugs soon.

Editor’s note: Police this week confirmed they were investigating Sunday’s crime, but added it was only one of two such incidents reported on their records for that location.
