INDEPENDENT candidate John Dalton got on his bike this week to urge voters to venture out to the polling stations.
He joined Wycombe District Council and fellow candidates who have been campaigning to reverse a steady a decline in local election turnout.
He has lived in Wooburn for 32 years and served on Wooburn Parish Council since he retired six years ago.
Mr Dalton told the Bucks Free Press he thought it would be a good idea to ride his bike through the village and use a loud hailer to persuade voters to get out and vote in yesterday's local council elections.
Mr Dalton said: "It is paramount for people to vote. I am very much in favour of making voting mandatory like in Australia."
