FURIOUS mother-of-three Suzanne Richardson has slammed post office bosses for suspending her from her job.

Mrs Richardson, 24, is livid with managers at Beaconsfield Post Office after they blamed her for a £167 shortfall of cash which they say could be due to miscounting.

The young mother began working at the branch in The Highway at the end of March.

Bosses say the missing £167 from her till could be due to a number of reasons but, until an investigation is completed, Mrs Richardson will have to stay at home.

In a letter to Mrs Richardson, post office manager Damon Ray wrote: "The weekly balance disclosed a shortfall of some £167 relating to your till and I am obliged to hold you responsible for such a shortfall.

"The areas giving rise to the shortfall are numerous including bundles of cash not properly counted and accounted for and shortage in stamps."

Mrs Richardson, of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe, said: "I have put so many hours in and I still haven't been paid a single penny. I have been suspended a few days before I was expecting to get paid. I am absolutely furious. I have three kids to bring up and not enough money to pay the rent.

"I haven't taken anything and I am just being used as an example because there are other disputes going on at the post office."

Mrs Richardson, who worked 1pm to 6pm shifts Monday to Friday, said she was expecting to be paid around £450 for a month's work.

She added: "I have contacted a solicitor because I have done everything for them and they have kicked me in the teeth.

"I am finding it difficult but my husband's job is just about helping us to get by."

Post Office manager Damon Ray said: "She has been suspended for the time being because we have discovered a large shortfall of money.

"We do not take decisions lightly and we are investigating the matter as to where the blame lies."
