YET again another death on that notorious Marlow Road the B482. Not a year since the last one. When is something going to be done to stop this carnage before there is a mass accident?
I'm talking about all the school children who collect on the corner on New Road for transport to schools.
Sometimes it's impossible to see what is coming east on the Marlow Road for all the children milling round there. I have even seen them pushing one another off the pavement in play.
Children just don't see danger. Car drivers trying to leave New Road to join the Marlow Road either way have a nightmare getting onto that road. Surely something could be done now before yet another life or lives are lost.
Speed restrictions just don't work. Humps would be out of the question. I think a speed camera would work as traffic comes into Stokenchurch from Lane End.
But by the time cars are going towards Marlow past New Road quite a lot of them are practically flying.
My husband was on holiday last week and went to take the dog for a walk. He was amazed at the traffic on the B482 and the time he had to wait to cross. He's not usually here at the rush hours.
After the accident last year when two young boys lost their lives there was quite a lot of ideas put into the Bucks Free Press. But so far nothing has been done.
We pay enough council tax and car drivers pay road tax. Surely with the colossal amount of money collected something could be spent jointly on making this road safer. I know there are other dangerous roads in the area, but surely this one is proving that something needs doing now.
