Seagulls bounced off town hall roof
A FLOCK of up to 50 seagulls have been given the boot from Chesham Town Hall's roof after anti-gull perching trampoline wires forced them to roost elsewhere.
The decision to fork out £500 on specialist pest control measures was taken by councillors at a meeting of the community buildings and arts committee in January after they complained of "bulk debris" -- or seagull droppings -- covering the new town hall roof. When the gull lands on the wire it is sprung back into the air.
Mike Kennedy, Chesham town clerk, said the gulls decided to move on after finding it impossible to land on the town hall roof.
He said: "The pesky seagulls have gone at last. The anti-perching measures have been a great success and all the bulk debris has been removed."
