HISTORY lovers have the opportunity to learn more about the architecture and history of toilets in the county.

The Marlow Society local history group is holding a talk, entitled Buckinghamshire Privies, in Marlow next Friday.

The talk is a nostalgic trip down the garden path by Wycombe District Council conservation officer Martin Andrew, who has published a book on the topic.

Chairman of the local history group Dr Rachel Brown said: "Most of the buildings are quite historic.

"He spent a great deal of time researching them and learned a lot of history from doing it. We are hoping for a fairly light-hearted evening."

For people interested in attending the talk, tickets for the evening cost £2 for members, or £3 for visitors, and there will also be light refreshments.

The talk is being held at All Saints' church hall, Marlow, on Friday, November 20, at 8pm.
