I HAVE just had an unforgettable experience in connection with the workings of the NHS, which I should like to share.
Following a swimming session, I had very painful chest pains.
Our GP acted immediately and I found myself in the tender care of our community nurses at the the Doctors' House in Marlow.
Tests were carried out and my GP referred me immediately to Wycombe Hospital.
An ambulance was called and I was monitored throughout the journey.
The ambulance attendants were very kind, considerate, comforting and good-humoured.
On arrival at the hospital more tests were carried out and I was admitted to Ward 5A.
I should like it to be known that during my three-day stay in Wycombe Hospital the consultants, doctors and nursing staff were quite magnificent.
They were always cheerful and nothing was too much trouble to make me very comfortable at the hospital -- morning, noon and night.
My very grateful thanks go to the dedicated doctors, nurses and ancillary workers.
Their team spirit was admirable and carried out with such good humour. My thanks also go to the catering staff.
The choice of food and presentation was excellent.
I feel refreshed and stimulated in the knowledge that if you are taken ill you will receive first-class treatment under our NHS system.
