A GANG of knife-wielding thugs stabbed a 16-year-old boy in the back after cornering him and his friend in an alleyway near a pub.

The three men, who were all carrying knives, approached the two boys and demanded money from them as they talked near the Red Lion pub opposite The Green, Wooburn Green, on Bank Holiday Monday at 8pm.

After threatening their victims, one of the attackers stabbed the 16-year-old. The attackers then fled from the scene empty-handed.

The injured boy, who has not been named by police, was rushed to Wycombe Hospital with a stab wound but was released on Tuesday after doctors decided the wound was not serious. His friend, who is 18, was not harmed in the attack.

Police have issued e-fit drawings of two of the three men believed to have taken part in the brutal attack.

Officers are keen to speak to a number of witnesses who were in the car park at the back of The Red Lion pub and Danny's Diner immediately before the stabbing took place.

The alleyway where the attack happened runs between the One-Stop shop and the VJ betting shop, both in The Green.

The offenders are aged between 20 and 25. Two were white and the other is described as Asian.
