FORMER Marlow boss Neil Dickens is the new manager at Ryman third division Flackwell Heath, following the resignation of Martyn Busby.

He will run the ship on a joint basis with former Marlow player David Lay.

They take over from former QPR player Busby, who had a nightmare sequence of results during his short time at the helm. He quit because of work committments, but will stay in contact with the Wilks Park club recommending players to his successors.

Dickens appointment completes a bizarre managerial merry-go-round at local level.

He was the manager of Marlow before he was replaced at Oak Tree Road by Dave Russell 12 months ago. But that backfired on Marlow, and Russell has now been ousted and replaced by Graham Pritchard, who began last season as manager of Flackwell Heath.

Heath reserves will be managed by Geoff Turner and Paul West, and the youth team by David Marks and Ron Richards.

Dickens and Lay are now busily preparing their new charges for the pre-season programme.

All Heath's friendlies are at home and they kick off with a derby against Beaconsfield on Saturday, July 25 followed by visits from Vantissart Wanderers on Thursday July 30, Windsor and Eton on August 1, Chalfont St Peter, August 4, Yeading August 8 and Reading Exiles on August 15.
