A NUMBER of new appointments have been made by local companies.

Fortec Distribution Network has appointed JIM SCANLAN managing director on its second anniversary. He joins Fortec, owned by Cave Wood Transport, in Coronation Road, High Wycombe, from the National Freight Corporation.

DAVID BRIGGS has been elected new president of Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Briggs, estate and site services manager at Zeneca Agrochemicals, received his chain of office from past president David Coles at the chamber's annual meeting at its Slough headquarters.

Holmes & Marchant Counsellor, in Peregrine Park, High Wycombe, has expanded its senior management team with the promotion of STEPHANIE SNOW and JULIE JENKINS to account directors. They are joined on the company's management board by account director STEVE MACKENZIE-LAWRIE, who joins Counsellor from Rowland Healthcare.

The new appointments reflect the company's move towards integrating its ethical and consumer focused business.

KATY PARKER has been appointed account executive at PR agency Key Communications in Thame.

Katy, 26, who lives in Tring, joins Key with two years' experience in children's leisure and event management.
