RUNNER Valerie King is giving a kick start to her retirement by taking part in the Wycombe half Marathon on Sunday.
King, from Hazlemere, retired after her 60th birthday recently, and is looking forward to running the 13-mile course.
She said: "This is the first time I have taken part and I haven't really done any running before, although I have always done ladies keep-fit and exercise."
An estimated 1100 runners will take part in the event, which starts at 9.30am on Wycombe Rye.
