LEADERS Slough conceded their latest match in the Cressex Astroturf Summer League preferring to watch the England/Argentina World Cup match on the television instead.

But two matches did go ahead as planned and the opening game saw Marlow A putting the Harlow defence under a lot of early pressure during which time the post came to Harlow's rescue.

But they survived the onslaught and took the lead against the run of play just before half-time when Karen Wilson squeezed it home from an acute angle.

Marlow hit back in the second half and built up the pressure again forcing a Harlow defender into a poor clearance which was picked up by Lesley Hankin who fired into the corner of the goal.

The same player provided the winning goal for Marlow when she swept the ball into the goal after a good stop and pass following a penalty corner making the final score 2-1 in their favour.

The second match between Henley and Wycombe Rye B started at a fast pace with both sides passing well. Henley opened the scoring when Sarah Hillis beat the goalkeeper with a good shot.

Soon afterwards Wycombe's Lorraine Hayes cleared the ball to Kate Porter who fed Lisa Olcot. Olcot worked the ball through several defenders before bringing the teams level. In the second half Henley's experience told and they took control especially with their good penalty corner routines. This led to two goals for Rachel Walker who also set one up for Sadie Lapper to make the final result 4-1 in Henley's favour.
