The Chiltern Community Partnership has launched its 2020 Vision to address key issues on the district's future.

The vision is part of a scheme that is geared towards highlighting public concerns for the Chilterns during the next 15 years.

In response to results from a questionnaire run as part of the project, areas of concern include antisocial behaviour and the fear of crime.

The partnership also aims to improve the public perception of the Chilterns, encourage voluntary work in the community and make access to services more equal.

Doug Ebdon, chairman of the partnership, said: "This isn't just a publication that's going to gather dust on a shelf. It will really make a difference.

"It reflects the views and aspirations of many residents, parish and town councils, community groups and other organisations."

Mr Ebdon, a local magistrate, is confident of success.

He said: "We will work towards 2020 by breaking down our activities into a series of detailed three year plans.

"I'm confident that by working together the partnership can achieve a substantial amount of valuable work, using the vision as its focus."

Mr Ebdon said he wanted local businesses to help by encouraging employee volunteering schemes.
