NINE former homeless youngsters from Harlow have returned from helping orphans in Romania.
The residents at Harlow Foyer made the trip to Isia to renovate and redecorate two flats for young people leaving orphanages.
The youngsters raised the money for the two-week stay and local businessman Darren Barden paid for The Foyer's maintenance man to go too.
The project was a partnership between the Foyer and the Prince's Trust as part of its European programme.
Andrew Cawthorpe, of the Prince's Trust for Essex, said: "This was an excellent example of how organisations can work together, and how young people respond to being given optimism and responsibility.
They have worked so hard on these flats, one of which is already occupied."
