COFFEE MORNING in aid of Christian Aid will be held tomorrow from 10am till midday at St Michael's Hall, Grenfell Road. As well as refreshments there will be stalls selling cakes, home produce and Traidcraft goods. There will also be a raffle.

While you are at this event you could make inquiries about the Bridge Drive to be held on November 7, as this will also be in aid of Christian Aid.

ONCE AGAIN another four weeks have passed meaning it is time for the Farmers Market in the Old Town tomorrow from 9am to 12.30pm with the usual wonderful selections of local foods, grown, cooked or reared.

ANOTHER Early Bird service takes place on Sunday in St Michael's Hall. This is the fourth such service which is becoming very popular for children from nought to five years. It will begin at 9.15am and lasts for about 20 minutes.

ALSO ON Sunday is the monthly walk of St Mary's Walking Group after they meet at the War Memorial at 1.40pm THAT EVENING there will be a Choral Evensong with the A40 choir in St Mary's Church from 6.30pm.

CHURCH COUNCIL ARE holding a meeting at the Fitzwilliams Centre on Monday at 8pm.

AT THE SAME hall but on Wednesday at 8pm is another talk, this time by Dr Peter Holmes, entitled "The Foundation of Christian Ethics".

A VERY BUSY weekend for most of the local churches and it is also Harvest Thanksgiving Time at the URC in Aylesbury End. This family service begins at 10.30am on Sunday and will be led by Rev Charles Martin. It will be followed by a Harvest Lunch and barbecue in the church hall and garden.

A SALE in aid of Leukaemia Care will be held at the Council Green on Wednesday from 9am to 5pm. There will be a huge variety of toys, books and videos for the young, and probably some for the grown ups. There will also be plants and many other low priced goods in very good condition.

TEA AND TALK time again for carers and those suffering from Alzheimers. This is monthly on the fourth Wednesday in the Reading Room, Old Town, from 2pm to 4pm. If you would like to know more about this Drop-In centre please phone 01494 670909.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY celebrate Trafalgar on Thursday when they visit many parts of London following the trail of Nelson. They will also visit Greenwich and its famous buildings.

ANNUAL COFFEE MORNING organised by the local Old Peoples Welfare Committee (Age Concern) will be held on Saturday, October 1 at the Free Methodist Church. More details next week.
