HARVEST CELEBRATIONS this weekend at St Nicholas' Church in Hedsor have something very special to offer and will make a visit to the church a real delight. Tomorrow and Sunday the church will celebrate the joy of abundance with the fruits of harvest along with an exhibition of paintings and woodwork. These too will highlight the fruitfulness of the harvest season. Refreshments will be available both days and there will be background organ music. Call in between 11am and 4pm each day.

Tomorrow at 4pm there will be a Songs of Praise including poetry and readings in celebration of harvest. On Sunday at 9am the Harvest Service takes place.

This church on the hillside at Hedsor has fabulous views across the Thames Valley and it's a joy to visit.

TONIGHT AND TOMORROW evening at 8pm there's a delight in store at the Community Centre when Forum Players present "Miss Glossop comes to Tea". The play is a funny who-dun-it and I found it very entertaining when I saw the dress rehearsal on Sunday. During the interval a posh ploughman's supper will be served while you consider all the characters and whether they are murderer material. After supper you sit back and enjoy the final scene when all is revealed.

Tickets are £8 with concessions £5 and you can get them on the door. The price includes supper.

Hard to believe but Forum Players will be reading their panto next week on Monday and Wednesday evening in the Community Centre. "Jack and the Beanstalk" is their selection for performances in January 2006.

Youngsters who want to be involved in the chorus should contact Jill Hyde on 01189 794467.

THE TUESDAY SINGERS will be the stars on Thursday, October 6 in the Community Centre. They will be singing popular melodies at a lunchtime concert to raise money for a village in Thailand that was badly affected by the tsunami. Last year's concert raised money to provide facilities for the 97 children who had lost members of their family or were made homeless. Now there is more to do. Anyone who went to last year's concert will know that it was a wonderful occasion. Tickets for this year's event are £10 from Judith Timewell on 01628 522854.

REMEMBER you can also get concert tickets from Judith or Crocks and Crystal on The Parade. Bourne End Concert Orchestra annual event is on Sunday, October 2 with an outstanding programme. It is always a sell-out so don't delay.
