AGM of the resident's association was held last Sunday. The main points discussed were as follows: the officers elected were Richard Coleman as chairman, Peter Charles as secretary and Mike Munday as treasurer.

The developer of the Royal Oak site is appealing against the refusal of planning permission. An inquiry is due to be set up in June 2006 by the Planning Inspectorate.

The latest news on the reduction of the speed limit on Missenden Road to 30mph, according to the County Council, is probably due to happen by mid December.

Proposals to redevelop the Cockpit Pond site are in the early stages of consideration by the residents association alongside the Highways Authority who own the land. The meeting favoured working towards an open water pond with improved accessibility and planting to hide the concrete walls and increase the attractiveness of the site. The project is in its very early stages and will probably take around five years.

HARVEST THANKSGIVING at Cryers Hill Methodist Church also last Sunday was very well attended. The church was full for the service and Jessica Batting Spence (aged 9) read the lesson beautifully. Afterwards the distribution of the harvest produce raised £170 for Tearfund.

THE FELLOWSHIP at Cryers Hill Methodist Church invite us all to join them again on Sunday with services at 10.30am with preacher Ken Kingston and at 6pm with Alan Crowle from Maidenhead. On Tuesday at 7.30pm the singing group meet, all are welcome.

TICKETS for the village quiz night have now gone on sale in the Spar shop. The quiz night is on Saturday, October 15 at 7.30pm in the village hall. Teams of four to six people are needed.

Tickets cost £5 and include a ploughman's supper. Please bring your own drink. The quiz is suitable for teenagers upwards. call Helen Peters on 01494 716772.

DO PLEASE support the "World's Largest Coffee Mornings" being held in the village on Friday, September 30, from 10am to midday either at the Village Hall as organised by the Resident's Association, or in the School Room at Cryers Hill Methodist Church.

FINALLY, spring bulbs will be planted on the corner of Missenden Road and Pipers Lane on Saturday, October 1 at 2pm.
