The Child Bereavement Trust (CBT) is a national registered charity working to help bereaved families.

Grief in its many forms is one of the most painful experiences that anyone can suffer and every year it happens to thousands of families when their baby or child is dying or has died, and when children experience the death of their mother or father, brother or sister.

By listening to bereaved children and parents, The Child Bereavement Trust leads the way in improving the care offered by professionals to grieving families in the immediate crisis and in the many months following the death of someone important in their lives.

The charity provides specialised training and support for professionals to improve their response to the needs of bereaved families, and produces a range of resources for children, families and the professionals who care for them. CBT's confidential information and support service is available during office hours, and the charity's interactive website contains a wide range of information for families, young people and professionals in healthcare, education, social care, the emergency services and the voluntary sector.

The website also has discussion forums for families to share experiences and support each other, and for professionals to learn from each other and share examples of best practice.
