Epsom Ladies were knocked off the top of hockey's South League after being held to a 0-0 draw at Rover Oxford continuing their record of never having won on the ground.
There was little goalmouth action in the first half, but Epsom had a great chance with 10 minutes left after a poor defensive challenge gave them a penalty stroke.
Unfortunately, Annabel Morris' flick was saved, allowing Staines to go back to the top with a 2-1 win at Eastcote.
Epsom host fourth-placed Woking on Saturday.
