TWO residents were honoured for their hard work and commitment to the community at the Princes Risborough annual town meeting.
Barry Clark and Maggie Wooster Keyte were both given civic awards presented by the Mayor and chairman of the town council, Alan Turner.
Cllr Turner said: “Barry has really exemplified the term service to the community. He has really put his heart into the community.”
He praised his work for the Macmillan Nurses and the British Heart Foundation and for dedicated years of service to the scouts group in the area.
Mr Clark, who owns the butchers shop H J Clark and Sons in the High Street, said: “When I first read the letter I thought they had got me mixed up with someone else and hearing the Mayor talking about me I am sure they have. It is a privilege to think someone recommended me for this award.”
Mrs Wooster Keyte was given the award for her outstanding work within the community and for her dedication to find a suitable site for the Stratton Memorial Garden and follow the project to its completion.
She said: “The circumstances in my life gave me the wherewithal to do it. All the other things I do give me great pleasure doing them.”
